Re: Tilt Nose ideas

I think people use C4 corvette hinges, a little fab and then
this:

plus this:

I've seen it done, but like you said, can't find any actual build threads.

If you're talking about just doing the hood, here is my build thread on it:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fabr...erse-hood.html

If you mean the entire nose, I don't think anyone has done that yet.

Re: Tilt Nose ideas

FSTFBDY posted pictures of it before. Here is a link to his directory. I would love to do this, but it would have to be on a different car than I currently own.

Re: Tilt Nose ideas

That's a lot of work considering it requires frame refabrication for the strut towers. The inner fenders are part of the main body which is also part of what's considered the frame. Third gens are not like the older models where the inner fenders could be easily removed for access or creating a complete tilt front end.

Although it's not impossible to convert a third gen to a tilt front end, it's going to be expensive and probably better to let a professional chassis builder do the modifications.

The reason there are very few pictures of anyone having it done is that it's not very cost effective to do the conversion so very few people are willing to do it.

Do some research, commit yourself to the project, document everything as the project progresses and post your results for everyone else to see.

Re: Tilt Nose ideas

Thanks for the replies.. I am doing the mod myself, I have years of fabrication and roundy round race car builds.. I am actually building off a front clip from a 2nd gen frame and suspension, full box tube frame to the rear and i have decided after much research to stick with tourque arm 3 link set up in rear suspension but upgrading to stronger and more adjustable components.. Its a radical set up idea, and different from everyone else..
