Please post pictures of fuel cells

I need ideas on how and where to mount the fuel cell. If you guys could post a few pictures of your setups to give me a few ideas that would be awesome. Thank you. (I couldn't find any pictures of anyone else's fuel cells, I looked but I Hardly could find anything.) also is it possible to mount them in the back or do they have to be front mounted? Thanks!

Re: Please post pictures of fuel cells

There was a company that made fuel cell kits for the 93-97 camaro, that were nearly bolt-in in place of the stock gasoline tank. Worst part, I forget their name. It's who I was looking to go with, as it would be a better option for me, not having much the tools or garage for custom fabbing.

Anyone know? I want to say their names were like 'freaks' or 'maniacs' or something (not horsepowerfreaks). I was thinking maybe FuelSafe too? But I can't find the old pictures this site had of the installs in the stock location.

NufNuffZ28 and I H8 WWD thanks guys! Have either of you installed this before? Can you mount fuel cell blocks in the storage area in the back for race or is that against regulation because it's technically inside the driving compartment?

Re: Please post pictures of fuel cells

Can't legally have a fuel cell in the drivers compartment. Have to block it off and vent it to be legal

The nasty fuel cell is actually a fabricated aluminum tank the same basic dims as 3rd/4th gen tanks with built in sumps. It it legal being under the car

Re: Please post pictures of fuel cells

I have not. When I first came upon this setup, it wasn't labeled to fit the 82-92 and needed actual modding. So I've held off. Now that it is official, I see this being a nice project next winter. Need to replace my floor pans first, then SFC's, brake/fuel lines.

Keep us posted on your setup if you can. Many threads go dead without further response.

Re: Please post pictures of fuel cells

I will. Block off how? Are you saying that it's possible to be put in the rear storage area? Right now I'm completely rehauling the suspension, then a roll cage, so I won't have money for this for awhile, but I will post when I get started on it. Thanks for all the help you guys.

Re: Please post pictures of fuel cells

I put my fuel cell under the car, and put access to the cell through an access cover in the rear of the car, through the access panel is where I fill the cell with gas

572_Rat Thank you so much, that one really helped and thank you for having a few pictures instead of one. Much appreciated. How much did the entire setup run you?

Pics of 15 gallon RCI cell mounted behind rear axle. Rear suspension is custom but all sheet metal behind axle centerline is stock.

Thank you 83RDRACR for taking the time to put the detailed pictures up. I appreciate that. I like the way both of you who posted pictures did this. I will defiantly look it over some more in the morning.
