Fog light removal for cooling?
I've got an '86 TA that is missing one of its fog lights. I've been contemplating just removing the other one and converting the holes in the bumper to cooling ducts for the radiator. Possibly add a little piping to direct the air into the radiator?
Any one have any similar ideas? Or suggestions for what type of material to use?
I'm not having any cooling problems (at the moment), but with summer coming up and more hp than I had last year I want to be safe. I'm running a built carbed 350, 3 core aluminum Champion radiator, 700r4 with aftermarket cooler linked in series with the radiator, flex fan, stock air dam, and no A/C. I know these 3rd gens are notorious for overheating due to lack of air flow and wonder if this might help.

Going to need more than that.
I never had the fog lights, removed before I got the car and always ran hot.
I tried a larger air dam and that seemed to help.

Your biggest gain would be what is stated above, air dam. If you have one, a few people have managed to make theirs bigger. I honestly wouldn't worry about the area where the foglights are with your engine. If you were running forced induction, I would say most definitely. If you have trouble you can always go for a lower temp thermostat.
