I seen someone made something like this on here quite some time ago so i thought id give it a shot. Not too bad sofar in my opinion, just gotta finish up some sanding and paint it
i ordered a first gen camaro gauge pod on ebay mabe by autometer, the angle on them is great, i cut it in half with a dremel and cut the ashtray out of my conshole and sanded the edges of the pod until it was damn near an exact fit, glued it together with a two stage plastic apoxi and filled all the crevises with glasing putty

I've got this same problem. Stuck on the Camaro and my Mercedes.
i dont think id do anything differently, im verry happy with the way it came out, i like the way it looks in the car
And the other two gauge pods are long gone, i messed them up my first try to get the cut to line up with the console where my ashtray was, second attempt went well haha, i used a sandable 2 part epoxi the brand is conserve, i dont know where to buy it, i got it from a bodyshop i use to work for they kept it in bulk, sanded that smooth and then a very thin layer of bondo ontop of the seme to sand that down smooth like glass then prime wet sand ofcourse and paint
Ill post some better pics of the gauges lit up soon, i finially got my stealthram and i gotta put my new harness in so i can get some power back to the inside of the car to finish wiring the gauges in then a tune and it will finially be running again! Its only been about 5 months but it feels like forever
Could you give some details about the products and procedures you used? Fairly high level. I'm guessing something like this:
1. Cut gauge pod and shifter bezel to fit together.
2. Use epoxy to adhere the two together (what kind did you use?)
3. Sand semi-smooth
4. Apply filler (what kind??) and sand smooth
5. Paint
I'm really just curious about how you adhered the two together and what filler you used? I'm pretty good with bodywork, just never modified plastics yet.
Thats the epoxy, i got it from my old job, its sandandable and adheres great, i super glued the pod to the conshole first tho, then went over the cracks with the epoxi sanded it down and went over everything again with bondo sanded that smooth and sprayed the whole thing with high build primer wet sanded it with 600 then 800 then 1000 and painted it satin black finially, i have yet to finish my car so i still have no pictures of the gauges up and running
