Should I change this...

Being we have a 383 stroker we had a custom 3 inch air intake made but the MAT temps are getting a little to hot I was thinking of going back to the stock air snorkel but wouldn't it be a restriction on the new motor car is speed density no more maf and I would look Into putting in the air boxes from hawks to make it a true ram air of should I just extend this air intake and put the air filter under the battery tray and out of the engine compartment what do you think?

Where is the air temp sensor mounted with the First setup? Looks like a nice air intake, I don’t think putting the filter below would hurt one bit

Re: Should I change this...

before cutting holes in the car, build a wall around the air filter to block heat from the radiator/engine compartment from reach the filter.

also, your MAT temps will go up just due to heat soak, so keep that in mind as well.
