89 Trans am !!!SOLD!!!
I have been working on this '89 T/A now for the last few years on and off and finally have it near completion. I am probably going to sell it though soon when I get all the little odds and ends things fixed to get back into a fourth gen T/A.
The car has a rebuilt motor about 1300 miles ago now (I have been driving it a lot lately, so the miles have been going up daily lately :-p). I used a 4 bolt main 350 block bored .030 over, used 305 HO heads and had them gone through/reconditioned, ground the cam to a mild 350 (not sure exactly on numbers, but I have most of the motor machine work paperwork still), powder coated the intake and polished the top of the plenum, and replaced almost every sensor, hose, line, etc in the process. It is a L98 VIN car with L98 motor now. The rear end is the 3.27 9 bolt rear and I changed the fluid when doing all the motor work as well as changed the tranny fluid and filter and coolant. I also replaced the entire front brake system including the master cylinder, one hard line, flex lines, calipers, rotors, and bearings. The rear calipers were replaced when I first got the car, but I will probably replace them before selling as they are now 3 years old and have sat for a while compared to all the rest of the new parts and the RR caliper has a bolt in the bleeder because the genius mechanic stripped the bleeder screw when he was bleeding it and I never got a chance to bring the car back for him to replace it. The body reads 118,xxx on the gauge, but most of the car has or will be replaced with new components by the time I sell it.
I also swapped out the ratty gray interior with black. I replaced the carpet, had the visors and sail panels recovered as well as the door panels (which right now are still in the upholstery shop). Headliner will be replaced with the ABS one before the car is sold. The interior overall is very nice and clean probably rating in the 7 or 8 range.
I painted the car in mid December and took off the hood, hatch, ground effects, mirrors, t-top seals, etc. to paint all the sills, crevices, and jambs on the car. I also replaced the t-top seals after it was painted as well as the coolant overflow bottle and windshield washer bottle. The engine bay cleaned up very nicely with new bottles and some paint. The tires were brand new a couple years ago and have about 1000 miles on them...replaced them about the same time as the motor was being built and installed. I have center caps on four wheels back in and will probably have all the wheel nut covers back on too before it is sold. I also just recharged the a/c system with R-12 and it blows ice cold again. Heater core was also just replaced this weekend.
I still have to buy the antenna assembly, decal kit, and some misc. things before I was going to sell, but I just wanted to test the waters and gauge interest in it now as it stands.
Below are a couple shots right after the paint, but before the t-top seals were back in or the last of the interior work is done. I will add more up to date pics at the end of this week.
Asking $6500 complete, but can maybe work something out if someone interested wants to leave some things unfinished for them to do. Thanks.

Re: 89 Trans am
Thank you :-) I should have some more pictures this weekend. I have parts going on bit by bit each week :-p I will probably be updating the pictures weekly with the new parts I add as I go.

Re: 89 Trans am
Here are some more updated pictures. I didn't get as much done on it this week as I would have liked to, but there are a few things that are different/fixed/taken care of. Odometer now reads 118,488. I have the decal kit, headliner, brake pedal pad and antenna on order and they should be reinstalled by next weekend. Hopefully the headlight motors will be replaced/fixed by then also.

Re: 89 Trans am
More updated photos. These include the new decals, headliner, and antenna assembly. I also threw new shocks and struts on it today. Rides awesome now and looks nearly new again. I forgot to mention above, I have a folder with most of the receipts and paperwork on the car for the work performed thus far. Included in that is a Carfax report that shows the clean history and confirms the mileage and such. It is a clean record in that there are no accidents or odometer discrepancies, but the car failed emissions a few times before finding itself with me in Florida where we don;t check for emissions. I don't think it would pass anyway anymore as some of the emissions stuff has been deleted. Anyway, just thought I should add that to the description.

Re: 89 Trans am
Also, I have a spare 700R4 tranny that can go with the car. It came out of a mid 90's I believe truck, but had lower miles and shifted fine before taken out. He put a manual tranny in it is all.

Re: 89 Trans am
Alright, it has been long overdue, but I finally got my door panels back and installed them when I got home from work tonight. Below are a few shots. Still considering trades for the right 4th gen or 2000 or newer sport bike...
Pardon the messy garage, but I have been overly busy lately and cleaning the garage is about dead last on the priority list unfortunately :-p Also, in the pictures, the little side vents on the dash aren't there, but I have them...just didn't want to install them until I KNEW the dash wasn't coming back out for speakers or light switches, or whatever else I had on the list of last minute finishing touches.

Re: 89 Trans am
No bites? No trades? I would entertain even trades as well depending on the car or bike involved. I have recently been leaning more toward a bike trade though as I will probably be getting a bike with at least some of the money if the car sells for cash...

Its a nice car man. It is not what I am looking for color/options wise, but very nice.
