Window Sticker....
i know this has been brought up before, but i am serious about getting this done. i just emailed carstickers.com to see if they would be interested in working with us to get us some freak'n window stickers! i told them to email me back, or call my cell phone. i dont think they'd have a problem working with us, but who knows. what i need to know from you guys, is what we want. i was thinking a THRIDGEN.ORG just in black letters with a clear back to put on my side windows. im not huge on the winshield banner, but when they contact me i can ask about getting some of them made. what do you guys want? im open to all ideas, but i think if we want to get this done were going to settle for one universal idea, or maybe 2. depends on what they say. what color and font do we want? like i said alot of this is riding on them getting back a hold of me, and working with me on this. so give me some ideas, post your questions comments and concerns, and lets get this done!

Black text wont show up really.....i think white would be the way to go.
For the font, how bout something like whats in the upper left hand corner of the main www.thirdgen.org page?
or maybe something like
...TGO...
ThirdGen.ORG
just "TGO" in bold letters, and "ThirdGen.org" in smaller letters beneath it?
EDIT:
Just made these in PhotoShop, just some ideas....

if it wasnt for the fact that part of the goal might be to attract other thidgen owners to the site, i'd say just a simle "TGO" sticker would be cool.....ya know, ya see another thirdgen with the sticker and you know they're a third-genner, but i think the URL has to be in the sticker for it to make sense to anyone else, LOL

I think a nice, well done white thirdgen.org sticker would be something I would put on my car.
On Friday nights I usually end up at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank, CA - one of the original Southern California drive-ins with car hop server, they really get a crown going on Friday nights. Jay Leno often comes by after taping the Tonight Show in one of his ultra cool rides, although never a third gen!
When I had my T/A, which was REALLY clean, people would always sak 'where did you get it, how do I get parts, where do I find info on these cars, etc'. Having the sticker on my car would say it all.
So, any word yet on if this is possible to do?
If not, maybe I will have to make my own!

I've heard nothing on wheather is possible or not. I'm definatly all still for it, and i'll lead the charge in getting it done. And if i knew i could sell them on here, with out getting screamed at I would have a batch made up, and then sell them for cost, not making any profit. I'll have to try and get in contact with Okfoz again. Thanks for your intrest, i'll let you know what happens.

At some point, if no one objects, we should do them and sell them for a dollar or whatever cost is.
There is something in the law that says if you announce you are going to do something, and a trademark/copyright holder fails to tell you to stop after they were made aware of the potential infringement, that you can proceed without penalty.
I don't recall the legal stuff verbatim, I'll ask my Dad (lawyer).

It is illegal to use the name ThirdGen.Org unless you get permission. Thats how they can make you stop. Usually its not worth it financially to go after someone and is why it never gets that fa. HOWEVER if the issue is pushed it can result in that.
How big of a sticker are we talking about? A windshield Banner, or something smaller... OR a 3" decal for the corner of your rear window.

I agree totally. Just 3 or 4 inches long, something to put in the rear window, I was thinking a few different color choices so we could try and match our paint scheme's. Blue, Black, Red, White are what i was thinking. I was all for the little photoshopped ones, i dont have photoshop personally so i was wondering if someone could throw up a few different fonts and colors quick. i'll be getting in contact with carstickers.com again and see what they can produce for me to show you guys.
okfoz- i thank you greatly for getting back to me. who are "they" and how can i approach "them" in regaurds to getting permission to use the Thirdgen.org name?

you can ask me,
basically, I would set up the account with carstickers.com or whoever is printing them...
Use the T-shirt board for this stuff... We will go through the hassles of figuring out what we want on it and everyone can argue about which one is better...

Just wondering, but I would love one just like the one layed over the camaro at the top left of this page. With the logo and thirdgen.org next to it. I wonder if we can get our hosts involved and if they would like "sponsor this gp". When I say sponsor, I really only mean we add a couple bucks to the price for their allowing the logo to be used.
I like that size to. It would be perfect for side windows.

Nevermind, I just saw a post I missed from our mod.
Well - what do y'all think? I believe it would be best if y'all did setup purchase through the website if you could float having a few made. If you wanted prepay to take some orders, that might be the best way to go...
THANKS!

Quick five minute mockup. Whatcha think? I was wanting to work the firebird and the camaro flag in there, but the only thing I could think was one at each end. But we'd need small B+W photos of each.
Nevermind. Guess that using the camaro logo and firebird logo is a no-no. Oh well. They can't copyright the french word friend and the word firebird, which is another word for Phoenix. And both of the fonts I found online as freeware. Nyah.

YOur correct, they cannot copywright the words, but they can copyright the words in the Font. Ever see Dale Jr's "8" it has a little (R) beside it, you cant register the number 8 on its own its the font, the angle, etc... If you even come close it can be considered as infringement. Fortunately I had a copyright class for one of my undergrad minors.

Well, then we'll have to change it. I know some people got away with painting "road runners" on their plymouth's by changing the number of feathers on the road runner, or giving him four toes instead of three.

Were not changin anything, besides, if we put "Firebird & Camaro" on a decal who is going to go to bat if we get sued... I doubt any one would be willing to do that considering everything....
