I want to start a group buy for an awesome fiberglass Camaro hood. It uses the the stock hinges and hood latch. Better yet, it only weighs about 30lbs compared to 60+ pounds for stock!
Purchase price is $375 plus shipping. Shipping should be less than $150.

Is the "Warning Hoods pins required. Intended for show and off-road use only." sticker just to cover their a**, or is it really not a good idea to drive around everyday with it connected by just the hinges and latch?

 

Over 500 is kinda steep, but are hood pins required? Are you running this hood now? Interested.

Is there ANY way I can get my hands on one of these hoods now? Did anyone start making them or so?
This whole lightweight hoods for Iroc´s is sooo strange. There are tons of FUGLY crap hoods available, but NO lightweight stock hood designs out there. I mean they make real CF hoods for Hondas and Toyotas, but for Camaros, NO unless you have any of the other generations, then you have tons of options.

I bought the last one, last year from this manufacture. He isn't making anymore. I am laying carbon down on mine.

^ Nobody is making them. Hawks offered too if 10 people committed. Never happened. I never could get MR IROC-Z to tell me who made his, but whoever it was is not doing it anymore.

Would love to get one that would weigh in at around 20 Ibs with maybe carbon fibre top layer or so. But a good quality fibre glass one would do the job for me also.
