I don't know why everybody keeps screwing over the 82-84 Firebirds. We are in a gap between reproductions and NOS. Good 82-84s are being scrapped for parts .

 

You guys know this is just for the console lid correct? Just thought id let you guys know as I got sucked in to reading this thread based on the title stating it is for a console...

I think it's (SHAMEFUL) that the "AFTERMARKET" even just (1) supplier cannot make reproduction consoles, tail lamp lenses, etc for our cars when "RUSTANGS" have 30+ offerings for every single part on those cars.

I mean it's 2021 people, it's not like 80's tech is hard or hard to "DUPLICATE".... No reason someones hasn't or isn't offering for instance consoles, lids, reproduction GTA Tail lights, parts, etc. The harder to find stuff.


And not (1) offers a whipple charger type supercharger either.. I mean how hard would it be really for Magnuson or a supercharger/whipple type company to make a SBC base to bolt one of those new type 4.0 or 2.5 magnachargers on? Really? If they can make one for 30-40 different makes/models now, they can cast one for us.. Truth is they don't want to because SBC guys could make good power without switching to LSX type blocks and they know it!!

Yet another example of the horrific bias we thirdgenners face daily!

 

Hawks is and always has been, part of the problem. They've thinned the numbers by butchering cars for parts, and they've always charged excessive prices. Everything they offer that can be found elsewhere is offered for less from other sellers.

 

Manufacturing has always been driven by demand. If you perceive a potential market for a product, you might consider filling it yourself.
