Here's my problem... you're modifying the car, not restoring it.

Try the appearance/detailling and body/interior boards. This swap has been discussed MANY times. You could even go into the old board archives from the main thirdgen.org page, and do a search there and you'll find a post by me from 1997 asking about changing the guages in my 83 to the Z28/Iroc guages, and the answers.

I know what you mean, the tech/general board moves very quickly... I only use it as a last resort, but if I didn't send the general/tech questions tot he general tech board, then this board would have the same problem...

oh ok, i see, i didnt mean to cause any problems or anything, i understand, but either way, i do need to have an idea on what i need to do to change out a whole dash, like step by step if anyone has instructions, i just want to eliminate the rattling and stuff..... and you can move this post to wherever it needs to be so i dont cause any probs.... thanx

It's pretty straight forward. Remove the screws on the dash pad, and remove the underdash panels and you should be able to get at the rest of the screws.

Well beside being a complete and total PITA. It really is time consuming. The thing I hated the most was getting the wiring dosconnected. Well first of all take off the dash pad, second of all remove the center console, third of all remove the steering column(will make it alot easier), from there look for the four main bolts in the corners 13 and 15 Mil take out all the other 7mil ones drop the computer etc etc etce. I would also suggest changing you heater core if it hasn't been done lately. Since the cores are a pain and you have everything out and it's $25 why not... Besides that what other details do you need???
