Car: 1984 Trans Am
Engine: GMPP 350 V8
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23
Well the 350 was not available until 1987. So if the engine has not been changed, the only V8's available in 85 were 305's. Either the LG4 (carb) or the LB9 (TPI) or the L69 (carb) not too many L69's were made that year. (about 1,600)
So it is a 305. The 8th digit of the Vin should either read: "H" for the LG4, "G" for the L69, or "F" for the LB9.

The LG4 and L69 look similar. (Both carbed 305's) The LB9 is fuel injected, TPI.
