DOHC on a V-8?

Does anybody know if there ever was a 350 engine made with DOHC.
(Dual overhead cams for the guys that hate imports )
If not, will the chassis of a 1984 V-6 model Firebird hold up to a 454?

ZR1 count? 5.7 DOHC 32 valve 388-405hp. Of course that was totally different from a SBC.

Many years back I read an article in a Hot Rod mag
about this comapny that were developing 4 vlave heads for the SBC. I think they probably cost a fortune- never did hear much about them after that.

Thanks for the input. I just found it on a 1995 ZR-1. Exactly how diffrerent is the engine as far as setting it up on a F-body

You would have to replace everything, including the computer. On top of that, parts for the LT5 (that's the Engine code) are rare and expensive. You'd be far better off looking at a 400 SBC (or a Motown 415) put on a good set of AFR 210s, a healthy cam and you'll be killing LT5s at a lot less cost.

If you're real lucky, you might find an LT5 crate motor for $12,000. Don't forget that you'll need the ZR1-specific ZF6 transmission (longer input shaft than other ZFs), and a TON of custom fabrication to make it fit.

Don't bother. I looked into this swap and came as close as you oculd get to calling and ordering the engine and tranny. You can get an LT5/ZF6 and all of the stuff for the swap for around $10K but it would require a totally custom exhaust and other custom fab as already mentioned. If you do it though, get the later 4 bolt 405HP LT5
