87 vert info

I was wondering with all the talk of 87 verts, how much is an ASC 87 vert sport coupe worth as compared to the z28 's and iroc verts? I know only 263 were made but I need to know.

The VIN does not indicate if it was a vert or not, is that correct?

I think I found one.

If Ebay is any indication, there was a light blue 87 sport coupe vert for sale. Had some nice options, leather, etc. and it was a no sale at $5,000. So although they are scarce they aren't worth much yet.

I should add that z28 and iroc 87 verts are worth far more than sc's

Look into nadaguides.com under classics and you'll find it. It currently shows high retail of $8300 for a 87 2dr vert; $11,300 for an 87 IROC vert (like mine) and $16,100 for a Z-28 vert.

All depends on condition, miles and the market.

By the way, I'm sure Willie will jump in here and give his advise; and he's the best to listen to, but the VIN will tell you if it's a production vert or if it was modified later. To be a true production 87 vert is has to have a 3 in the 6th position. If it has a 2, the car was modified after delivery to the dealer.

Rodgerunner pretty much explained it all. I should ad that the "20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition" label was applied only to "factory" convertibles, i.e. a VIN sixth digit of "3". A map pocket with this designation was installed to signify this. Customer owned convertibles, i.e. a VIN sixth digit of "2" (like all coupes) do not have this designation, BUT were serialized by ASC and represented with a plaque (I've never seen one), stating "#xx"
