car craft made a boo-boo

hey in the sept. car craft mag... they rate the best camaros ever... and they said that in 88, the convertable came back... and for 87, they mention the 350 with tpi.... am i mistaken, but the verts came back in 87 correct? lets all swamp car craft mag... the 3rd gens ranked like this... '85 was #7, '87 was #9, '88 was #11, '83 #16, '84 #21, '90 #22, '91, #23, '82 #24, '89 #25, '92 #29, and '86 #30.. they were all ranked out of 36... '69 took #1 and '80 to #36...

I missed that issue

But we all know the best 3rd gen (besides Firehawk and TTA) was the 305 TPI 5spd cars!

I fired off an email to them Friday letting them know where they screwed up.
No. 22 in particular. They talk about the '90 IROC being the last IROC and the best IROC, then they show us a pic of an '87 'vert which should have been used in pic 11 along with the correction in the text of course. For those of you who haven't seen it yet it's on newsstands now!

Thanks for the warning all, I won't waste my money on that issue then. You think a major publication could at least get their facts straight.:nono:

I love how they say the 92's are the best thirdgens, yet rate them lower than the 91's.

They're gearheads, not historians, and considering how little thirdgen information is actually out there, I think they did ok. Magazines almost always screw up thirdgen facts because accurate information doesn't seem to be easily and readily available. Most of us know the real information because our lives revolve around these cars, but that's not the case with the magazine guys.

I really have to disagree. If I cannot trust their facts about a car history article, how can I trust their engine build up specs, or brake upgrade information. Scott Settlemeyer is just a phone call away I'm sure, especially if you're with a major car magazine.
What If I bought a suposedly rare thirdgen based on their info only to find out they were wrong and I'd been ripped off?
Sloppy journalism is inexcusable.
