i'm kinda confused, what does your question have to do with teh above posted poll??? and as for the rarity of that combo i have no clue
well mostly all gta's came with a digital dah...
as far as the aluminum driveshaft that usually comes when you order the aluminum spare tire package..
so the aftermarket t-tops have nothing to do with the other opitions you have on the car...

As for the spare tire, not all GTAs have aluminum spare tire rims. My '90 has the stow-a-way spare with a steel rim, all stuffed under the plastic panels inside the passenger's side quarter panel with the jack and the inflator.
All GTAs came with the aluminum driveshaft (as far as I know).

Okay guys I hope this helps...
1) aluminum drive shafts (JG1) were not standard on GTA's but were quite common on them until 1990 when they became a little more uncommon on these cars
2) digital dash package (U52) was found on 1987 and 1988 GTA's with each year seeing just over half of these cars with this option. After 1988 it was discontinued
3) T-tops and the 350tpi combo (CC1 and BL2) were
a factory available option on these cars until 1990. I think there is the odd person who has a GTA produced after this point with CC1 and BL2 but thats another issue....
4) the aluminum spare tire or N64 was available as an option as well but could be ordered seperate from the aluminum drive shaft(JG1) and was. Each production year will vary
...as for the GTA with aftermarket t-tops, I have one last piece of advice....look under your car and see if you have subframe connectors, if not let them be the first thing you look at purchasing.

razor thanks for the info..but ok check this out i read somewhere the factory t tops were NOT offered on the 5.7L gta it only came on hardtops..i heard because of structural integrity so it would make sense that people would go looking for aftermarket t tops .just like the 5.7L didnt come with a 5 speed..well correct me ok thanks

....lol.....you need to read a bit more because your info is only partially complete. After 1990 you could not receive the t-top/350 combo in a GTA.This applied only to the GTA and Formula's could still be ordered direct from Pontiac with that combo right through 1992. As for the GTA's prior to 1990 having t-top/350 combos there are many. I own 2 myself. If you really need to bulk up on GTA facts and figures check out the GTA Source Page. The guy that runs it knows more on these cars than any one person I have came across. His website is full of info and he is usually happy to answer questions on the history/production aspects of these cars. But to answer your question, you are incorrect. This option was offered in GTA's until 1990 and NO you do not want aftermarket t-top conversions on a 350tpi because the car itself would not be re-enforced nearly as well compared to a factory ordered CC1/BL2 combo. This is why I suggested the subframes. To verify what I just said all you have to do is look at production numbers in 1989. In that year 8500 GTA's were produced. CC1(t-tops) were in 6800 of them. Now look at how many received the 350tpi. 6500 got that engine. The reamining 2000 or so received the 305.The numbers support the statement. It would be impossible to not have any 350/t-top combos that year. Hope that makes sense...
thanks for the info i had it mixed up,i am looking at some sub frame connectors ,these cars twist too much i especially felt it coming down a driveway sideways what sub connectors do you have or recommend thanks for the info.
