Red rims?

My RPO code says the car was built with Red Wheels. I assume this is some sort of accent colour. Anyone got any pictures of how they looked from the factory.

That is a really nice rim.

However, I'd like a red rim like this one....

This is a really crappy pic (I obviously don't have Photoshop), but here's the general idea of how your rims would've looked.

83tranzam,

Great effort! Thanks for that... I like that, I might put them back to the original spec.

Your sig says you have an '89 RS, what rims are on yours?

I actually owned an '89 2.8L RS from '95 to '96. I had to sell it because I was a college student at the time and couldn't afford it. I really miss it! It was black with the silver rims like you currently have. I'm pretty sure that those wheels were available in Red, black, white and eventually teal. I could be wrong however.....

Yeah, I never much liked the teal wheels either. I think the black, red & white ones look alright though.

I don't care for the color matching rims, maybe cause when ever I see them , they're all faded, the reds look pink and so on.

They did tend to fade over time, probably from braking heat and chemicals people use to clean their wheels and tires.

My grandpa had his blue 89 RS painted with color matching rims, looks very nice IMO.

Red is a great colour when it looks good. My car had a respray because it had acquired that well know "dusty salmon" matt look!
