vin 8 with 110mph speedO?!

Hey guys,

When I bought my 92 Z28 it was an authentic vin 8 350 TPI card, hard top, 700R4 etc. YET it had a 110 mph speedo (180 km/h)... could it've been swapped over? is that likely?

Anyone else wtih this combo?

One more question, my car came with a sensor in the dash that turns headlights on when it's light out. It doesn't work anymore the lights just come on with the ignition now, but i was curious about this

Does it have the dual cat option? If it does then it should definitely have the 140 mph speedo. It it's a single cat i'm not sure what speedo they had.

I believe but am not sure that the car is built to canadian specs, that would at least explain the headlight thing. Is the spedo in KPH and MPH or only KPH.

the speedo's big numbers are Km's/h which is the system we use in Canada, small numbers are mph.

theheadlight thing makes sense I guess for canadian cars...

when I got the car it had ONE catalytic converter, however, this car has been hacked-up a bit by previous owner with his backyard "wiring" and "modifications"... finally I have cleaned it up and had some things fixed properly.

Daytime running lights were standard on canadian thirdgens of that vintage. Check your RPO's, if you don't have G92 you probably have the correct gauges.

Car: 1992 Camaro RS
Engine: 5.7 V8 TPI
Transmission: T-5 5-Speed Manual
My mom's 92 RS also has the sensor in the dash for the headlights, only hers works. The headlights are off for normal day driving but they turn on when it gets dark or overcast. Check to see if the sensor beneith the cover is dirty.
