91-92 GTA taillight "PONTIAC"

Those of you with the above car....
Is it paint or a sticker? On mine you can see where it says pontiac but you have to look close. I have no color. It's the same color as the rear taillight assembly.
I want people to know what just kicked their @$$.

It's originally silk-screened. Too bad you just missed an NOS set on eBay for only like $200.

Anyway, there is a lady in Australlia who will sell you a decal for it. If you post on my board, one of my guys can hook you up with her name and number.

I bought the decal from her myself. Here is a pic of mine:

The decal is 98% perfect in color match and fit to the original. You will be VERY happy with it!

EDIT Here is her info:

Karen, kazoosigns@bigpond.com
$25 U.S. for 4 sets shipped.

Just email her and tell her that Alex from TransAmGTA.com referred you. Good luck!

Oh, one more thing for anyone else reading this, if you have a regular Trans Am, your car may have had this is grey, not red. It depended on the model and paint color....

The set on ebay sold for 150.00 with a buy now

Shame I seen the set within the same hour of listing, if mine were not close to perfect I would have bought them.

Mine are clear, I prefer them that way, I never care for any discription of what manufacture made the car, but it just my opinion.

Alex yours looks good

Car: 92 GTA
Engine: Yes
Transmission: Busted
Mine flaked off. I used to touch it and have red dust on my finger. Now its all clear and I can just see the outline.

Hey 92GTA, my plate (also CA) says '92 GTA'.

Grey. There is a Medium Quasar Blue 92 T/A in my own town and I'm sure it has the grey....

Alex

Wait, damn now I'm not 100% sure, maybe it was red. Shoot, now I'm not sure. I'll have to track him down and look. There is no set color for what the car is from what I can tell so far it's kinda random from what I've seen on regular T/A's...

I dug this up after doing a search. So I'm assuming there were different color "PONTIAC" logos on the taillights? I don't mind using the sticker, but I'd like it to be the correct color. Any way of knowing what color it should be? Its for a 1992 Dark Green Metallic Trans Am (as seen in pic below).

OK, I just looked at the Dealer brochure for the 1991's and the Green had a RED logo. I guess its the same for '92

Any thoughts?

92GTA, you say you have one (your picture didn't work). How well does it hold up? I wash my car frequently, and I'm worried it will peel off in a short amount of time.

I saw a 91/92 deep green GTA a couple of years ago that had the red logo.
I thought I saw one time that the PONTIAC was lit up with red led's. Looked good imo.

Go the link in my sig for pictures. You don't have to worry about it coming off one bit, I thought I would but it hasn't, it's been great!

Yes red is the correct color for your car...

I have a spare set but it's a backup. Come one, they are dirt cheap anyway. Besides, I went through 2 sets just trying to get it perfectly placed...

Since the original lettering was silkscreened, I'd like to bring up another silkscreening nightmare...

THESE DAMN INTERIOR SWITCHES

Does anyone make stickers to go over the original to restore the white lettering that wears off in a summer?

I'd hate to have to replace a working switch just because the lettering wore off.

Rub on letters can save a switch. Otherwise just replace them. Window switchs are $11 each, lock switchs are $6 each, the only one that isn't cheap is the turn signal/cruise switch.

Do you have a link to a list of the retailers? Or the one that sell it?

I went ahead and bought NOS and dealer new replacements for the headlight switch, cruise/blinker liever, power mirror switch, power windows switches, and power door lock buttons. I even installed an NOS shifter plate because there was a nick in the grey paint around the indicator. A new leather wheel and airbag do wonders also. My interior looks like brand new now

What I want to know is where the heck to get the stickers for the side windows that say theft deterent system or whatever it says...

I don't know, it's been a few months since I emailed her, about 6 I think.

Here is the first thread about her on my message board from the user that found her, about half way down the thread:

http://TransAmGTA.com/MessageBoard/s...s=&threadid=44

The users name is geoffs, you can try emailing him and and see what he knows. It appears however that this old thread got messed up when I installed my new message board though so if you want his email, PM me and I'll give it to you.

I don't know that I've ever seen a theftlock sticker... The antitheft stickers that go on the side windows were available a couple years ago, I've got the part number around here somewhere.

Drew, PLEASE find the part #'s for the side window stickers:hail: :hail: :hail: That's the ONLY thing I'm missing on my cosmetic resto:hail:

I went to the dealership and I went through the computer myself with the parts guy and could not find them. If I can get the P/N I can do a search of the GM disco inverntory and find one...

If someone finds the part number for the security system stickers anytime soon, please post it. I just scheduled the Formula to go in for window tinting, so I'm gonna have to get a couple sets of replacements.

Do a search yo.

Part number 10080835 is the one I needed for the Formula. I just got off the horn with my parts guy, I've got 3 sets coming.
