http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1875005110
I did a search and Im sure they exsist, but how rare is a 87 1LE IROC? Is there a way to check if it is a 1le by the vin # or my the rpo code only? Any help is appreciated

I'd say that car is pretty rare. Especially considering that there were never any made.

1LE's started in 88. If its an 87, its not what its advertised as.

If, just suppose, this guy knew he had an original 1LE and planned on hacking it up into a drag car, he should be shot.

If he had a 1LE, then yeah, but since there weren't any in 87 (and I'm sure he knew that), there's really no issue with that.

Thirdgen.org is definately a great place to be. Since you're from the Boston area, you might want to check out www.nethirdgen.org too. It's a non-tech thirdgen site that started off with mostly north east members (hence the name). There's a few Boston-area folks on there.

I'll put it this way... the only part of the 1LE package that was 1LE only was the larger front brakes.

The front sway bar is the same as most later WS6 Firebirds.
The front springs are typical Z28/WS6/FE2 springs, same with the rear.
The aluminum shaft and spare were available seperately.
A/C delete was available seperately.
Etc...
