camaro shadow
hey guys, i have a question that i am having trouble finding an answer to.
here it goes...
i have a 1983 camaro shadow. it hase a 2.8 and an automatic. it doesnt have a rear spoiler, or any ground effects. it is black with a yellow and a gray racing stripe down the hood and the hatch. the doors have graphics in yellow and gray that shadowwih some stripes. it also says shadow on the hood and the hatch.
need to know some info on it to see if it is worth restoring or not. when i bought it i was told that only 50 were made and only 34 were left, and that was 4 years ago. any response would be helpfull.
thanks, billy2000

Sounds either aftermarket or homemade, but sounds unique. I would love to see some pics of you have any.

here are a couple pics of the car. it was in a minor accident that broke my axle, but it didnt bend the frame, so it isnt that bad. just ignore the damage.

do you think it is worth restoring?
i was just wandering if you think it is worth restoring, and if it is, how much would it be worth? do you know of anybody who might be able to tell me more about the car?

Very interesting. I would agree that it is likely a custom or dealer added package.
Are the mirrors different too? They look different than the usual 3rd gen mirror. They almost look like the 87 GTA paddle/Euro mirror.
I hate to say it but IMO that car is too heavily damaged to justify the cost of fixing it. That looks like alot of damage. I think 83firebird S/E had a good idea of just picking up another SC and adding the shadow graphics to that car if you like them so much. But in the end it is up to you, good luck with whatever you decide. Either way it is a pretty neat looking car.

Yeah, definitely unique, it must be custom because I have done a bunch of research on the third generation camaro, never came across anything called a shadow, but it looks pretty cool. What's it got under the hood? It is up to you whether to restore it or not, I think it would be worth it if you have the money, the rear window sorta reminds me of an old Dodge Daytona. :burnout
the car came stock with a 2.8 and an automatic.
it now has a 350 four bolt main bored 40 over with the following components: keith black hypereutectic pistons, childs & albert dura-moly rings, arp fasteners throughout the motor, crane cams cam and lifters, crane cams double roller timing set, dart iron eagle heads, polished aluminum valve covers, speed demon 750 carb, msd ignition. i think that will just about do it for now.

If your frame is bent then I wouldn't bother fixing it. I would get another car and transplant the parts from the old one to the new one. Any left overs I would part out and sell. As far as the graphics go. They are pretty cool. I would just try and recreate them on another car if possible. If you think it's worth keeping that look.
