Hey Mr 92GTA do you got a close up of that UX1 . Never seen that before.
I also heard that some came whit a CD player. Is that true?

Sorry, I have no close ups of the UX1 I have but I'm sure someone else here has a good image of one, if not I'll post one tonight or scan my 92 brochure for you.
Here is the factory 89-92 Firebird CD player:

Ok, here are all 3 of the radios offered on the 1992 Firebird as scanned from the 1992 brochure:

These 3 should be the standard as far back as 1989 but anything before that I am not sure of, but I know the CD was not available before 89...

Ok, so why doesn't anyone else have a yellow dot on the volume ****?
Both my 91 birds have a yellow dot on the volume ****. Both radios are stock 91 bird radios, and both came from different sources... so whats the story?
The stock 86-87 radios, and the 91 radio in my Maro are without the yellow dot, so it appears to be a 91'ish bird feature only.

Here's my 82 AM/FM stereo, no tape. It was the default for all 'Birds that year, but is actually pretty rare because it was unpopular and most cars had upgrades, all the way up to UM6. 7 total radios to choose from, plus I heard something about a dealer-installed 8-track player option, so that would be 8. Mine is the standard radio for 1982 and the code is U58. All mechanical.. even the AM/FM switch. The only thing digital is the clock display, but being a heat-activated filament display, it's actually old-school analog:hail:

this is a really old picture... REALLY... OLD... like circa 1998 or 99... back when I was still using a 35mm camera, having pictures developed, then scan them, then crop, upload, etc... but anyway... here you can see the radio with the yellow dot on the volume ****. My other 91 bird deck is the same way, but its the EQ cassette deck.
My Firehawk is technically a 91 and like I said, it does not have that dot. My 92 brochure does not have the dot either as wekk as the deck in my GTA....Does anybody else out there have that yellow dot?

Here are my radios. Not the best pics, but I really don't have better ones at the moment:
1985 UM6 : RADIO, AM/FM STEREO, SEEK/SCAN, AUTO REV CASS
1984 UL1 : RADIO, AM/FM STEREO CLOCK ETR
1982 ??? I think it's a UN3. This particular radio I'm pretty sure did not come from an F-Body since it has chrome trim on the button faces. But this is what came in my 82 T/A when I bought it. It's invalid; car calls for U58 which I showed up a few posts

My 91 TA had the exact same radio as in the brochure right down to the yellow dot on the volume ****. I replaced it with a Pioneer unit because the tape player never worked and it only tuned into about 3 stations good.

Allan, did you have to trim anything to get that radio in there? I remember a while back I tried to put a radio just like that from a 99 S-10 into my old 85 Camaro and it wouldnt fit.

Here she be, Eclipse CD3422. Great sound, no frills, just the way I like it.
