What the engine code for this motor?

Hey guys. Simple question: What is the engine code or name of the 350 TBI that came in so many Caprices in the late 80's and early 90's before they got that jelly bean look. And what were the HP and torque numbers for said engine?

Thanks,
-The Gunny

The engine code is LO5. From what I can remember the HP and TQ numbers were about 200 and 285 respectively.

No sadly not just the 305's, but almost all Chevy engine's in the 80's and early 90's, 2.8's and 4.3's in Blazers and S-10's, 350's, even the almighty 454 came with the TBI.
And yes the engine code is LO5 for the TBI 350, and the torque and hp numbers sound right.

Sorry I might have read your post wrong, In Camaro's and Firebird's, Yes only TBI V-8 was the 305 (Iron Duke 2.5's also had TBI). So I'm not sure what you meant I hope this clears it up.

Yup, I've got a TBI 350 in my 88 GMC Sierra. It does alright moving around a big truck but that's about it. It even has the black TBI center bolt valve covers like TBI Firebirds
