How many gallons of gas does a 84 Z28 gas tank hold?

Like the topic says, I want to find out how many gallons the tank holds. Right now when I fill my tank up my gas gauge reads full and when its down to 1/4 full I put 8 gallons to fill the tank back up. 14,13,12,11,10 gallons?

I'm pretty sure it should be 15.8 in 84 with the V8 and 16.2 with the V6.

OK cool, right now when I fill my tank up when its around a 1/4 tank it takes 8 gallons to fill back up. Thats after 200 miles do driving, and around 260 when I get hard on the brakes or hard turn my car will stall out due to it not getting enough fuel.

July '83 USA Camaro brochure shows 16.2 gal. for all except 15.8 gal. for L4.

Sept '83 Canadian Camaro brochure shows 64 liter/14.1 gal. for all.

All thirdgen gas tanks are 16 gallons. The .5's and whatnot are all technicalities. Figuring the total capacity to within 1 tenth of a gallon is trivial.

Why would the V8 get a smaller tank? It uses more gas, so it would make more sense for the bigger motor to have the bigger tank...

I think my sending unit may be screwy. This week I drove until my needle was down to the warning line just above the E mark on the gauge. I put 9.8 gallons back in. I would drive until the tank dries up but since Drew says its around 16.0 gallons then I beleive him.
