Yes, they do exist! www.transamgta.com has a page with a blurb on it. I'll see if I can find the URL. I'll edit and post it when I find it.

Here it is.

That car certainly LOOKs like a real bandit edition. Looks pretty clean too.

I'll do you one better than that.
I saw one being trailered just a few days ago in either TN or KY. It was Bright Red and looked absoluitely perfect, probably a very low mileage car. I like the way it looks except for the scoop, they could have done that better. But a nice/rare car!

It's really just a Firebird right? Not a TA?

Correct, it is a "Firebird Bandit II" NOT a Trans Am Bandit II. It's just any like other base model with a 305TBI motor reguardless of what the owners want to call them...

I like it, but it looks like a conversion van company must have done it. The wheels and wood dash treatment look right off of a late eighties GM conversion van.

im having a hard time trying to believe that the car really is what he says it is. First of all the 3rdgen trans am that was in Smokey and the bandkit 3 was an 84 ta black with gold rims..kinda looked a lil like night rider but a lil different. Im gonna have to agree with 92GTA...To my knowledge ive never heard of a factory car called a "banditII"......not from the factory anyways. IMO though....and if im wrong....anyone correct me.

Theres one that goes to cruise night up where I am, its in mint condition, with the fake scoupe, decals, and 305 TBI. Its a great car, but nonetheless its only packing an LO3. A guy up here has two mint 3rd gen firebirds he brings to cruises, I park right next to him, his may look nicer but mine is faster :-D

i think they look cheesy as hell. but point blank, they DO have an awesome collector's value. there are a few f-bodies we'd all like to forget, and maybe this is one of them, but it IS still a part of our heritage, and at least a few need to be preserved. just my $.02

Interesting they made it out of a base car instead of a TA...I've seen them before, but never knew that.

I kinda like it...then again, I love 10th Anniversary '01 Hawks (also black and gold) that everyone else at work (Pontiac dealer) hate! Although, I have been known to like, and even purchase, gaudy azz F bodies, at least in 4th gen guise :hail:

hey, i won't laugh at ya for it. someone HAS to love and preserve them, or else another part of our heritage will have been lost.

Because the original one was factory and this was just some aftermarket apearance thing by CCC. CCC almost always used base Firebirds for their conversion like the Pro Am and others...

This was a response to the immediately above. This is a potentially explosive response so again, it has been edited (deleted).

Furthermore, if you want to continue this here, I will immediately erase this entire thread. If you want to continue it via e-mail or PM, that's your business.
