ttop differences?

I'm looking at a set of TTops as a backup set for my '87 IROC.

They look to be from an 85-92 car. Are there any fitment issues with a different year?

Also, does having keys REALLY help or is it kind of a gimic option?

you can change your locks to your backup set if u need to.

the early years used hooks to hold the t-tops down. then came along the glass ones with small pins, and other glass ones had large pins, then other versions were made with lexan/acrylic and used large pics also. then you have the aftermarket t-tops that had c&c on them, which wont fit at all.

when i lost my passengers side large pin lexan t-top, i had an extra glass small pin passengers side i used for a few weeks.

all i had to do was simply lossen the moutning holes behind the plastic trim pieces and move them around alittle at a time to get the small pins to fit in right.

Its the same for Camaros and Firebirds right, the latch style I mean. I thought only Firebirds came with the hooks.

All Pins all years (84-92) were the same, I have a set of "Large Pin" Acrylic tops and all the larger part of the pin is a sheeth, and it pushes into the top.

The Locks are nice to keep them from getting stolen...
