87 Carbed GTA?

Is this possible? There is a very nice looking white w/pearl 1987 GTA sitting for sale in front of my work for $1700. It has obviously been repainted, has GTA badges all over it, and doesn't have the fender vents. The eighth digit of the vin is H which is a carbed 305. Was this an option?

That sounds like someone took a Trans-AM and added the GTA stuff to it.

If unsure get the VIN and run it through the decoder.

Actually if it has no fender vents it was probably a Firebird to start with. 1987 was the last year you could get a carb in any of the cars. But all the GTA's were either 305TPI or 350TPI.
