question about speedometers for 87 vert

I have another question for everyone. A few years back my speedometer broke in my 87 20th anniversary edition LT sport coupe convertible. I replaced the speedometer out of a parts car i had at the time. Thanks to willie and every one else on this board telling me my car is only one of three known to exist ,i want to get the car back to stock original condition. i can't remember what type of speedometer my car came from the factory with. any help would be greatly appriciated.

It's an 85-mph unit.

Now the question is whether or not you had a trip odometer?

The 140 speedo on mine was a big tip off and the dual cat exhaust though alot of 1989 cars got these newly added for that year.
The 140s were mentioned with 5 liters, but with the 350s, you know it shouldn't have anything less. The time I was upto 130 MPH, I knew it!! hehehe

YEaaHHH

Don't know if you'll read this but for protecting the car, I went with a car cover... more space saving then a portable garage. My dad bought mine and got it truck size!! Not the best for a Bird/Cam

i thought about the car cover, but the portable garage was actually a real good deal, theres a company called homier, that is a travelling tool outlet. they travel from town to town selling tools and whatever else they have, i got a 10' wide by 20' long by 9'tall,fully enclosed garage for $ 119.00 i had hoped to have it up and the camaro in it by now. i figured a needed to trim some trees over the driveway ,just to be sure there was enough clearance for the garage, well as my luck would have it i borrowed my buddys electric chain saw he bought at a yard sale for $ 3.00 and the dam chain brake did not work, long story short i have a gash as long as my finger put near to the bone ,hurt like **** bled like **** so the garage is still in the box. but the main reason i went with the portable garage is so i can work on the camaro over the winter it's really roomy inside, actually make a decent paint booth to. i will post a pic with the car in it when i get it up. take care bill.

Chainsaw dismemberment ain't cool
Sorry to hear about that misadventure

I like the idea but here the weather can get pretty tough and it would probably get knocked over! hehe
I am an apartment dweller so I'm sure the managers would LOVE it

i lived in an apartment complex in pennsylvania, the only thing they allowed you to do ,as far as working on your car,was pop the hood long enough to check your oil. the manager lived on site,so you could not do any kind of work to your car. i got the portable garage up,with the help of my neighbor,(he has a 57 chevy) it is actually stronger and more stable than i thought it would be. i do have to anchor it down though.i was going to post a picture of it with the convertible inside, but my camera will not come on.so now i have to get a new camera, because i get my extra money for working on the camaro by selling stuff on ebay. take care bill.

Here you can do a bit more but it is restrictive... and not a nice way to go (sometimes service shops aren't either) Depends but when a friend can do the chore for a small fee, sometimes that's preferred. I have that option as well, but in that case, it's a friend of a friend

I bought my digital camera off eBay for $34 or something. A 1.3 megapixel Concord...it's works until you need the 3 or larger.

i just won a digital camera on ebay, so it won't be long i will be able to post pictures again. i also was looking for a distributor on there ,wanted to put the vert in the new garage, and the coil pick up in the distributor just broke into pieces. screwed the whole thing up. i mean its so bad i don't think i can even replace the parts.oh well if not ebay, guess i will drive up to huntersville to third gen resources. take care bill.
