Slider bar on dash?
Slider bar on dash?
When and in what Firebird or TA was there a bar that slides left-right-left to the left of the trunk button? The dash has the 140mph speedo. Supossedly the dash came from a GTA, but I am not certain for I am having a hard time remembering ever seeing the control. I've heard it was for a subwoofer, but uncertain.
Any ideas?

That slider control also incorporates an on/off switch and was for the UQ7 subwoofer speaker system available from 1984-1988.
I believe it was offered on any Firebird model during those years; my '88 GTA has it and it was a $150 option.

My 1985 trans am with the Lb9 85 mph cluster has this slider switch on it that controls the subwoofer speakers.I also have the very rare ETR, AM-mono-FM-stereo, w/cassette, w/seek scan, equalizer, w/search and repeat radio. Its the only one i have seen so i guess its pretty rare on a regular trans am or firebird but gta i guess had this as a common option.hope i could help.<Dave

Yup nolan0413 That's exactly what i have on my car but I'm sure yours works my radio doesn't't work and i don't wanna pay $125 for a used 19 year old radio :nono: .i wish we knew how many cars came were ordered with this option but i guess will never know
My 86 T/A had that option too. The radio was long gone but the slder switch and those crappy speakers were still in there.
seems like the speaker boxes would be good for something tho.

Where did Pontiac place the amp?
If anyones interested I've got both speaker boxes, the amp, the gain/power switch, the radio trim with the performance sound badge, and bits and pieces of the wiring. I also have the front and rear 4x6's. I'd like to sell the works, $50 + shipping.

Drew, if that stuff is in good condition you can consider it sold.
E-mail me and we'll finalize the deal.
