Two tone seat material??
Two tone seat material??
Hello ,
Hope someone can help me with this. I did post also in the aftermarket product section, biut thought it might be better here.
I have two tone grey front seats in my 86 TA. They are, Im told, a material called Pallex which looks to be what Hawks calls regal velour. The problem is they cant get the lighter grey in the correct material. Any suggestions?? My order is on hold temporarily while I scratch my head. I can sent pics if this will help. Thanks in advance, Ive been learning bunches from this site.

I have a couple samples for my 86, its close. I didnt realize that the seats I sent a sample from were of a little different shade than I had in the car originally, so... I have to see if they can get a slightly lighter gray than they sent me. I'm sure they can, they matched what I sent.
You'll need to send them a sample and they'll send you something back.

Thanks,
Looks interesting. They mention the Pallex material on their site. I guess that material would need to be taken to a local upholstery shop? I guess I will need to look into the $$. I told Hawks I would let them know by Mon. What are your seats like?
Thanks for the good lead.

Thanks, I have seem them. They seem to have the same colors as Hawks. I went ahead and ordered from Hawks, I think we have the right colors, just not sure about the material. I am going ahead and sending material off to Larry Dennis. If what I get from Hwks is not right or I dont like it, I will look into having them made from scratch...

About the seat material
I have the same seats and am getting ready to have them redone. I still have some pieces of the original material but not enough for what I need. I took that (since the original front seats have faded) and went to the upholstry shop and we matched it to a 90 Trans Am in the GM book. The '85 material is no longer available. It looks exactly the same. I laid it up to my rear seat (little to no fading) and it looks dead on. I am going with it. Now on the charcoal inset, we can't match that exactly. I think I am going to go ahead and do the front seats entirely and leave the rear seat and see if the slight difference of the charcoal will be noticeable. I don't think so. I am also having the door panel part covered to match the front seats. The silver color looks exact to us. I will let you know how it turns out when I get it done. I am also getting the head liner, sail panels, visors covered and installing new carpet.
Krazy goodluck trying to find a reputable place to do the z28. Its trademark and patented and can only be doen with the expressed written permission of the patent holder. I just went thru this just trying to have the chevy logo put on my headrest. When you do find a place they want a small fortune to do it.
