Primer grey and rust on all unpainted parts after a few months.
Such as rear axle, exhaust, rear LCA's,sway bars and etc.

In addition to some of it being gray primer and body color, the suspension parts (axle, control arms, sway bars, springs are all a semi-gloss black.

The control arms up front are not all painted. The outer part of the arm where the ball joint is was not painted, the line runs approximately from where the turning stop is to the back. Almost all of them that I have seen have orange paint on the end like an inspection mark or something.

On my 19K mile GTA (which I have owned for 11 years), it never had the orange paint marks you refer to. I am not saying all 3rd gens are not pained with these marks. It can be different from year to year and between the two plants.

Remenber most under body parts on 3rd Gen cars were not painted. The only rear axle being painted black was the BW 9-bolt. Thats why there is so much rust on the underbody.

Could be. Like I said, most of the control arms I have seen are like that.

The rumor is that its an 89 TTA that a dealer put on its side for a display, I believe it was back in 89. Notice that they put it on a mattriese to protect it a little.

When I have worked on my car I sweaer that the bottom is actually the charcoal color that my lower stripe was, the only reason I have a little yellow down there is from when I painted it in 1997. And the black is from my SFC's and all my parts I powdercoated

Please realize that my car is a Norwood car, and it is very possible because of their painting process that the entire underbody was put in the "Turbo Bell" with the rest of the car, so I would think that the car would have been yellow all over at one time, and then painted gray on the bottom, I could be very wrong here tho...

Hey, I'd take that TTA... Even if it had frame damage form that stunt, I'd sure love to have a TTA with the stickers still in the box. ...sigh...

My car has a really fresh coating of corrosion prevention compound, in the form of MOTOR OIL from my bad filter seal... Stinking jiffy lube... Oh well, free undercoating.

Is there something different or special about the 82 Z28's? I ask because my z28 appears to have galvanized sheetmetal underneath. Its really cool, there is absolutely no rust, discoloration. Just a nice shiny galvanized zinc color under the dirt.
