I take it you want to know what comes suspension wise for your car. Nothing special. You have stock GM stampings (LCA's and panhard rod) and thinner sway bars. You shocks and springs are standard 305 issue. You will only find better suspension stuff on IROC's, Z's, WS6's and GTA's. However there wer options available throughout the years but they are not that common. I would check your RPO codes to see if you have any of those options.

Check in the center console for a list of 3 digit codes. Formula's could come pretty much fully loaded. They could also be slow as can be.

Best bet is to check out the RPO codes.

If your RPO list is missing, I think you can take your VIN to a GM dealer and they can run off a sheet of the RPOs that came with that car.

I did that last summer. Once you have that, you can run them all through the RPO decoder on this site, and they will tell you what all of them are.

All Formulas have WS6 as standard equipment.

The WS6 is what makes a Formula a Formula, otherwise it would just be a V8 firebird. Formula's had the same engine options as the same year Trans Am (87-92) ranging from the LG4 to the L98. There were never any V6 formulas. Not ever. There have been many Formula stickers applied by owners and used car lots, kind of like the RS camaro to Iroc thing. That's just in case you run across one.

Formulas can be identified by the power bulge hood - also found on 82-84 TA's, and the wrap around rear spoiler same as Trans Am's of the given model year. Like it was siad above WS6 is standard on all Formulas...but was an option on the TA. The GTA got it all standard...for a lot more money though.

87 formulas used the 16" "high tech turbo" rims which were first available on the 84 Trans Am 15th anniv edition and later were common on 85-86 Trans Ams.

88 and up formulas got a new version of the high tech turbo wheel which was better looking (in my opinion) it was unique to Formulas.

The Formula is essentially a parts bin car. All the go-fast goodies availble on the cheapest level of trim. Notice I said available, many upgrades were still options or parts of option packages.

Nothing really new or original. Not that that's a bad thing. It's my favorite 3rd gen, but to each his own.

Faster than a 305 TPI? I'm assuming that you have a 305 LG4 motor, right? 165hp? No offense, just wonderin'.
