Correct Appraisal

Hi,

Just curious if anyone can put me in contact with someone intimate with 3rd Gen history that can help me certify and or provide an appraisal for insurance purposes. I might be foolish for wanting more coverage than the 10k offered.
Got an opinion? Feel free.
it was larry:) :)

need to know more, like the options. Is it loaded or stripped? any scratches or dents, interior wear at all, ttops? 4 wheel disk?

If the car has most options, with ttops and rear disks, the car is a desired car and will be worth more. There were only 2497 L69 cars in 85. They were all manual trans cars (mandatory) and were faster than the 86 IROC-Z's. I would say that if this car is as clean as you say, and optioned out, I would insure it for about $15k. If you're thinking about selling the car, it's only worth about $7k . I'll be right over!!!

Actually, being the first year for the IROC-Z and being low miles and the L69, I would stick close to $15k myself.

I have an 87 IROC-Z that is fully loaded with 11,700 miles on it and my insurance company told me to bump my coverage to $20k. I also have the 350 and leather. both are 1st year options.

Good luck and let us know your plans for this car.

HI Scott,
It has been driven so it has two rock chips, no dents, still has original tires. Not a T-top and has aluminum rear drums.
tinted glass
power windows
power hatch release
body side moldings
intermittent wiper
elec. rear defog
AC
cruise control
tilt wheel
aux lighting
elec tuned am/fm w/sk&sc
silver metallic
gray custom cloth
I truly appreciate your advice. Thanks for your time.

I'm gonna stick by my last response. The car could easily be worth $15000. You need to remember, though, that this price is a replacement value for insurance purposes. If you were to put it on eBay, it would probably only get to around 10k. Cars are worth what someone is willing to pay. An insurance company will pay that price and only a handful of people will.
