Car value

Do you think the value of thirdgens will increase in 6 years?

The reason I ask is becuase I'm leaving for 6 years, and I don't know if I want to sell my car and buy another one when I get back (I won't have to worry about anything happening to my thirdgen while I'm away) or if I should just keep it and put a car cover on it.

I figured if the possibility of the value of thirdgens to increase greatly I will just keep mine and hopefully nothing will happen to it (vandalism and what not).

But IMHO i think the price of them will increase a little bit( esp the 1982-1984s) I say keep it, Its horrible if you sell your 3rd gen. but yet agian you wont see it for 6 years, and thats a long time for a car to sit.. hmmm, its all up to you

if it were me id sell it now and put the money into a cd and earn some cash on it and then when you get back from where ever your gonna be for the next 6 years you will have a little more than you had and honestly the money you would earn in a cd would most likely out weigh the money you would get out of it when you got back even if it did go up in value at all

and besides if you park it for 6 years your gonna have to do some work to get it to be good for the next 6 years and even then ive seen people do every thing to their cars to preserve it for only over winter and still things happen like mice get into the garage and somehow get into the car and ruin a good interior

if it were me id sell now and invest the cash and buy when you get back

I don't have any time or money to do work to it to get it good for the next 6 years. So I guess I'll sell it.
