Overhead Console
I just picked up an overhead console from EBay and have a few questions:
Was this an option on all models of Camaro?
What the heck was the purpose of the wheels on the front of the console (labeled with such oddities as 'Celebration')?
What are some of the pitfalls involved with installing this on a vehicle which didn't originally have it?
Thanks for any info you may be able to provide!

The overhead console was limited to a few years only. The info wheels are just reminder settings. You can choose the best option and date. Not really a practical piece, but it was an option nonetheless.

Here are a couple of links that may provide some info you're unfamiliar with:

By the way, I 'believe' the consoles were available from 83 to 87.

Before you try to install it, make sure you got the right one --- there are 2 models.
One for T-top cars and a different one for coupes.

Well That figures!! I have the straight console, which according to the article provided (btw Thank you for that) is for a T-Top car. Anyone have a coupe version they want to sell (or trade)??

I've got a coupe version, to include the foam backing piece and hardward (the attaching bolts, etc. should you need them), but it lacks, if I remember correctly, the map light and flashlight. If you're interested, PM me.
