Maybe you guys have left over export dashes that were used up on domestic cars. I.E. europe and austrailia! I am probably wrong.

Sorry, gotta keep it as a spare I just know if I sold it the next day one or both of my '83's will have cracked dashes. I'll contact you if I run into another good one though.

nope, ALL thirdgens without exception left the factory left hand drive, with the vin number in the bottom drivers side corner of the windshield..

thirdgens were never officialy imported to UK or Aus - Aus cars need to be converted to right hand drive by law, in the UK we leave them left hand drive..

here's me following FocusGhia through North London, in case you wonderd what its like on the other side of the road!

This one sure looks like a good conversion to right hand drive.

does look good, car is probably in Australia..

the biggest problem with the right hand drive conversion is the hump for the cat - very difficult to overcome!

The notch has nothing to do with the vin number, and all thirdgens have the notch on the passengers side. Don't ask me what its for, I have no idea.

Someone might want to verify whether the Camaro dashpad has the same notch, I can't remember one way or the other.

Also, the notch isn't visible when the dash is installed the car, the lower part of the windshield is blacked out concealing the notch.
