Oh wow! I love the red/black cars. To bad it got hit

Go for it!

I see it has aftermarket t-tops like my old '82 did.

If it was a CFI, GM T-top car I would not mind having it.

$750 isn't a bad deal. It's going to cost a lot to get her pretty again, but it's always(most always) a fun time fixing up stuff. And if all else you have a plethora of spare parts for your current car.

If you can afford it, go for it!
You do need some parts though, but they should be fairly easy to find at the local yards!
The seats are almost always bad! And, if you redo it back to stock, you'll need the Knight Rider wheels!
Sounds like you are going to give Alex a run for his money! He needs another '82!
Did you look for the vin, data plate, and the RPO lost of codes?
That'll help you decide!

Good luck,

George

Buy it! You can't go wrong for $750. I wish I could find a decent 82 T/A here in Wisconsin for that price. 82-83 T/As are almost non existant around here.

BTW, 108,000 orignal miles, and just passed emissions. Still have the paper and the tags are good until NOV 2006...if in AZ.

The T/A in the pictures has the LG4 305 Carb motor. I can tell because only '82 LG4 T/A's (and 87-92 Formula's) had the hood scoop block off plate.

That's the last thing I need right now.

The only way I'm getting another '82 right now is if it was Red/Black, CFI, and had T-tops. I would sell my blue '83 for it.

Or a Recaro T/A

well, looks just like how my 91 Z28 was when I got into an accident... was an easy fix, with the right parts and tools, just check for frame damage, looks like your gonna need a new hood, fender, and front clip w/ bumper supports... go find a trans am that got rear ended and take it off of that, and keep the bolts etc from it, then go slap it on the wrecked one hehe... Air tools make the job easy... much easier.

My nose got lightly hit, the headlight stopped working but after some time, picked up again, I have a spare left side light you don't need for that hehehe
I do need a new bumper and probably fenders...and doors. Regardless of the type of damage it can all be somewhat costly to do.
Looks nice though, love those lumbar power seats, that will cost to reupholster (sp?)

82FirebirdTA

I can't argue with that statement

Looks like a good staring point, for $750!!

Go for it, that damage is pretty minor, and you might be able to save that hood!
I know I would try to save it , if it was me.

I see the ever-so rare rear wiper too. Looks like one heck of a deal for $750

What caught my eye was the plexi fill in panels you put on the early Bird's nose...That would work for several years' Birds.
How'd you accomplish that? Are they custom cut and mounted?

After lots of Internet research,I came to the conclusion that most nice/cheap 82-84 birds and t/a's are in the west coast area(California,Oregon,Washington).Midwest area it seems Ohio for some reason has allot. And the northeast area new york, new jersey.I live in Oklahoma and had to get my car a blk and gold 82 t/a in Iowa.Thank g.o.d the transport was only $200.

doesnt look like it need tooo much, interior could use some and hood/nose/fender and you should be set?

Hows the frame??

get on your belly and check the under carraige too, check for rust, make sure they arent hiding anything. And run the vin but yeah man 750 isnt bad, weather its a donor or a project. Could be fun, could be a nightmare......good luck

type in: 1983 Trans Am , on an E-bay search.

I look at this quite often, and see now that there is alot of body parts offered, that you need to fix this car.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!
