Value of Lexan T-tops

I went to the junkjard 2 days ago & found a Camaro with the Lexan ttops. The plastic is all scratched but fixable & the weatherstrip is garbabe. The guy at the jard wants $100 for both. Are they worth it? or should I keep on looking?
I dont want to make a profit, I just want to have them for race days. but dont want to overpay.
(they both have a sticker that say someting about taking care of the acrilic & the GM logo is on the sticker)

I got a set from a junkyard in what sounds like a similar condition for $20... for BOTH... there not worth a whole lot since they tend to craze... (the small cracks close to the surface is called Crazing)

If they were in new condition, that would make them pretty valuable, probably about $100 to $200 each... Since they seem to be unheard of in "perfect" condition.

Most people restoring our cars prefer the Glass T-tops because they are less effort to take care of.

I had the lexan tops on mine and they were in bad shape --but got the full treatment (link).

Recently I found a really clean set of glass tops at the local Pick-n-Pull I took home and cleaned for $30. I like the glass alot more, plus it has the mirrored effect. I don't know off the top of my head what the weight difference is -- but I'd say 10lbs or more each side.

Most of the time about $0. They usually are all webbed and look awful, like mine did. I got some glass tops for mine and it makes the car look much better.

Guess I was lucky. Really liked mine. No scratches and extremely light weight. Plus the "batmobile" look to them

I have the lexan tops on my car, and they suck more than anything has ever sucked before. The driver side top is actually warped, it has too much of a bow to it and it leaks air. When I'm on the highway, it sounds like a f*ckin wind tunnel in my car. It is so loud that I can't even carry a conversation with whoever is riding shotgun.

Also, they are both full of little micro cracks between the two layers, so it looks like someone spilled a bottle of glitter between the top and bottom layer of lexan. And they are all stratched up from hitting each other when I put them in the t-top bag.

BOTTOM LINE: I HATE MY LEXAN T-TOPS!

Oh, I forgot one more gripe. They squeak like a banshee against the weatherstriping. The glass ones are nice and quiet, but these stupid plastic ones are loud.

^I have the acrylic Lexan tops and have NONE of those issues.

They start to get a bit of wind noise over 60 mph, but the glass ones do the same at about 70... Not like it matters, I drive 75 normally, and am usually cruising around 85 to 90 when the freeway is empty.

The last owner's son painted mine black like an idiot because she let him drive it for a couple years though. I took some thinner to it real quick and they cleaned up great.

I like the acrylics, they are hella light, and way easier to get on or off.

I'm going to get some glass ones at the junkyard just to keep mine in good condition as a matter of fact. Just because every other one I see is beat all to **** and scratched like hell.

Luckily the lady I bought the car from (original owner) hated taking the T-Tops off, or I bet the weather stripping would be F'ed up and the panels would be all scratched.
