Difference between '82 and '83-84 charcoal interior color?
Is there any difference in the color between 1982 and 1983-84 charcoal interior trim panels? The '82 trim code is 18 while the '83-84 is 17. Looking at pictures I can't tell any difference in the plastic and vinyl surfaces.
My Firebirds parts microfiche lists different parts numbers for '82 and '83-84 trim parts so I'm thinking there might be a difference in the shade of charcoal.

lol digging a little too deep into facts for me!
As far as I know, all GM cars used the same names for the same colors. Regardless of number, if it says Charcoal, it's Charcoal!

In this case "Yellow is not Yellow"
For interior pieces there may be only a slight color change, but you may not want to "Mix and match" You could probably get away with a compete seat swap with door panels, but I would not attempt having similar objects that should be the same color being from the odd year.
If your doing a re-upholster then I would not think it would matter a whole lot...
From what I can see in the Firebird ID Numbers 1967-1993 the 1982 Charcoal gray is darker than the 1983 color.
