Im having a lot of trouble trying to figure out what this engine is
I bought an engine at the junk yard 2 weeks ago. It was out of an 85 camaro. the car had 54k miles. I told the guy that runs the yard that the engine looked a bit rusty but he insisted it only had 54k and its garanteed to run. So I start to disassemble it. It looked different than my 86 LG4. oil fill on the passenger side with a 3 inch tube to fill it with rising out of the valve cover. It had a Q-jet ,smog pump, AC and all that crap. Then I look at the distributer and it only has 2 wires to connect to and a vaccum advance can on it. I'm thinkin this engine wasnt an 85 LG4. So I look up the engine code thats written on the block. 14010207, All my sources say it's an 80-85 350. I was excited at first about having a 350 in my hands...but now I know it's gotta have more than 54k, i didnt wanna hafta rebuild it, If i wanted to I would have rebuilt the engine in my camaro. anyway I found the date/suffix codes V0730FMP (could be EMP or FMF...) I looked that up and every code possible is from the 50's or 60's. Any ideas why codes on the same block are contradicting each other??? Im clueless as to why

thats a possability. also the exhaust manifols have 1 large A.I.R. tube each at the front. The LG4s ive seen have a little one for each chamber
