orginal tire size
I'm going to need tires soon & currently have BF Goodrich Radial T/A 235/60R15 but have read under the RPO Codes that they were 215/65R15 that were on them orginally. Is this correct?

Yes that is correct.
It was a "special" size, invented just for these cars, as far as I can tell.
Your 235/60 is altogether a better size. I'd stick with that if I was you. That, or 235/55, is what I always ran when I still had 15" wheels.... which I ditched a long time ago, it being impossible to find any kind of truly performance-oriented tires in 15" for this heavy of a car. And by "performance oriented", I don't mean just regular sedan tires except with white letters (BFG, Cooper, Pep Boys, etc.); I mean Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone (real ones), stuff like that.

I was doing some price checking & people were telling me that there wasn't such a tire avail. I don't need performace tires & will probably go with the 235/55 but man, are they ever pricy little puppies

You don't need a performace tire but are going with 235/55's??
First hardly anyone makes that odd size and they are more performance oriented then the 235/60s or 215/65s.
BFgoodrich has 235/60's

It's fun living in a small town-there's only a 3 week waiting period for them to come in
thanks though.
