What engine do you have?? the LU5 would be different than the LG4. I have an LG4 one from an 83 T/A...

sorry I didn't specify. I did want the Crossfire model. Are all crossfire ECM's the same for each year or all years? Also are they the same between the camaro and firebird?

Thanks

THey should be the same for both Firebird and camaro for the same year.
According to the parts & illustration catalogs 83 had the pt number: 1226026

It did not list the 82 LU5 ECM. However the H engine in 82 used part number 1225500 so do not get them confused.

The EPROM numbers are as follows for the LU5:
82
5.0 CFI Auto w/o AC FED 1225553 or 3203ALX
5.0 CFI Auto W/AC FED 1225554 or 5597ASY
5.0 CFI Auto CALIF 1226101 or 0554TO

83
5.0 CFI A/4 FED 1226384 or 7574ALL
5.0 CFI A/4 CALIF 1226702 or 7579ALM, 4548CHH

Hope that helps

John

well, I have the opportunity to get a CFI setup suposedley from an '82 Crossfire car with the number 1225500. Does this mean it is from a Crossfire car? Also how do I find out the EPROM number?

The guy said either a Camaro or Corvette. Now I know that the Corvette CFI system and air cleaner looks a little different. I know that from the photos I have been sent that it is definatley not a Corvette CFI setup and it's not the '84 setup either...it has to be from a camaro or firebird. I'd like to get one from an known 82 Firebird, but I just can't seem to find someone with one. As far as the intake goes, that is fine. I'm more or less more concerned about the wiring harness if it is in fact from a Camaro, I wan't it to be able to work in my Firebird. I also have GM Part #14031372. I believe that this is the number for the CFI intake.

The wire harness would probably be different for a Camaro than a Firebird because the hoods were different. I know the Firebird TPI system wire harness from 85-89 are definately different than a Camaro because the MAF sensor is located in a different location.

However they both use the same ECM. I am not for sure, but thats the number for an 82 LG4 4bbl, That same ECM was used on all the carburated "Firebird" cars that year. Since your going to a CFI I would be leary. All I have is the info above.

the EPROM number should also be on the outside of the ECM Module case.

well, I'm going to have to decline then. It's on ebay for like 50 bucks. Not a bad deal but if I don't know what it truly is I'm not going to bid. Here is the link.

82 CFI system

I know the hoods are different on the camaro and firebird. I guess I'll just have to wait untill I can find a complete system from a firebird. The throttlebodies look like they are in good shape, as does the intake and aircleaner. There was another one on Ebay not too long ago for like 60 bucks. I passed on that one too. I was thinking of doing the ECM upgrade but I'd like to get a harness in my car before I think about doing that. I know there is an adapter a guy over on the Crossfire Vault makes to hook up the old style harness to a newer ECM. He said I could get a TBI harness from a late 80's early 90's chevy truck that will work without the adapter. Not much modification to the harness is needed, but I'd rather get a direct harness for my car so I know it's works.

Engine: L-98 with LO-3 induction. 350 CFI
Transmission: 5 speed and vette has 700r4
Axle/Gears: 373's in T/A .. vette unknown
thats an f-body cfi system, the heater hose at the back is a giveaway, i have a 82 vette and it doesnt have that and neither did the 84 vette, the 84 vette had a thermostat housing the pointed kinda straight up, throughout the years and models they went on, Ive only seen the return fuel line and feed fuel line being different. also the 84 vette intake had some balancing holes drilled in the runners. I've seen a 82 & 83 f-body intake and they are identical systems.
