What is the difference between a Sports Coupe and RS?

I know what an Iroc is, and I know what a Z-28 is. I have seen lots of RS camaro's, but I have never heard of the Sport Coupe. Is it just the body effects, or is there something more there?

The Sport coupe aka SC is the base camaro from 82 - 88. in 89, there was no longer a "base" camaro, there was only the RS and the IROC or Z28.

The RS appeared in several states in 1987 as a test bed for GM. California, was one of the states, there was also the LT that I believe was intended to be like Pontiac's Formula, but never took off so it was droped.

Thats how I understand it.

Now someone may be able to elaborate on this, whether it be to confirm or deny my assumption...

I was always under the impression that sport coupes did not come with ground effects, whereas RS cars did have ground effects.

The 88 SC was the first sports coupe to have ground effects. 1988 was the first year that only 2 Camaro models were available to choose from, the SC or the IROC-Z.

Here's a pic of my old 88 SC

LT's were the same as a berly, but Lt's were a one year production car, (i believe LT's year was 87) The Lt's and berly's did not come with gfx to my knoledge. As the berly was a "luxery model (sry my spelling is bad in the morning) The LT's were to. only reall differences with the Berly and the LT was the color of the wheel (they came with the same stock wheels as the Berly) That color being sliver instead of gold, And i believe the Dash inlay Said Camaro instead of LT

The LT didn't have the Berlinetta dash. Just a standard analog cluster, normal radio, etc.
