I just thought i'd share my current progress of bringing this camaro back to life. Its hanging in the tree, waiting to be sand blasted.

Isn't it alot of strain on the body to hang it from the front and rear with no support in the middle? I could be way off, but it just looks like a lot for a unibody to handle.

It seems like the same concept as putting the body on a rotiserie(spelling?). Plus with it stripped like this its light enough for 2 people to carry around.

That is freaking awesome, when you get done with it, you will have a car that is just as good as new, if not better. Good luck.
What are your plans for engine/ tranny? New interior? Or will you be restoring it to orighinal specs?? It must be awesome to live in an area where you can hang a car from a tree and no one care. Good luck again

Heh the cars located in the mountains so you have a good distance between neighbors. Sadly i'm away at school about 3 hours form the car so i go up to my dads, who's helping me with it, as much as possible.

Few plans:

Vette LS1(Have this) T56(Next purchase), Aluminum driveshaft and 4th gen rear with 3.42's(have both), and plastic gas tank, which i have too.

I already have a set of Eibach sportlines. I plan on changing every bushing to polyurethane ones. Body will be completly repainted.

Interior, 4th gen seats and original everything else. 8 point cage, since now would be a good time to put it in.

It will look just like a Z, since the 91-92 z28's are my favorite. I may even put Z28 badges on the car. I know some folks are against this, but hey it will be all around better then a 91 Z.

When its done, it will be My car how I want it, and that was my plan all along.(I wish i had no budget )

thats sick, keep us updated.

Honestly though make it look like a Z28 you should just at least keep the RS badges on it, be proud of it being "just and RS"

not a fan of clones at all.

The motor won't be naked when it goes into the car, thats for sure .

As for the badge situation i'm still undecided. No matter what happens though, i'm going with the high rise spoiler, fog lights, and bow tie grill. I'd get the Z hood, but i'd prefer a cowl. It would be hot though seeing the car from a distance and think nice Z, but then you get close and bam its "only" an RS.

I'll be sure post pics as i make progress, although its slow progress.
