Can somebody help me with VIN information?

1G1FP8787GL160443

Running it through any of the 4 million online resources is useless because I have already decoded it. I want to know if it is authentic or not. This is the VIN from a guy posting on the IROC Homepage. He seems to have no reason to deceive me, and really didn't even know much about how special this car *might* be. Of course, he also says that since there are 2 others just like it in his area that he's going to mod it because he doesn't think it's rare I want to find out if it's authentic or not, because if it is I'm going to do everything in my power to buy it from him before he messes it up. Thanks.

Jim,

If the VIN is correct, it is a 1986 350 Camaro. Call (800) 222-1020 (GM Customer Service) and give them the VIN. See what they say.

Have you seen the car? The VIN is located in a half dozen areas besides the windshield. If you need the locations, e-mail me.

No, I haven't seen it. That's why I want to verify it. He lives in Florida.

Willie, if you're interrested, here is the thread on my message board: http://camaronet.ods.org/cgi-bin/iro...stID=915008341

So far it's been quite interresting.
BTW, I'm going to get that $100 money order today if I get time.
