There seems to be lots of crack smokers in the Knight Rider world. If they'd only head to a junkyard they'd find that 3rd-gen parts are dime a dozen.

There was a '82 Trans Am in the paper here for about six weeks. It was a 30k original car, just your typical '82 T/A. The seller wanted $23,900!!! The funny thing was that after about three weeks the price went up to $29,900! Somebody was real clueless on the value of the car and ended up wasting $360 on a classified ad.

BUt I think the Knight Rider pic helps...

Should it be noted that the new **** is differnt, as it has the Pontiac emblem where the first **** did not.

It's a second gen auto shifter ****, with matching button.
Off a 1974 to 1975 Firebird/Formula/Trans Am.
Good call Alex!

Now that I think about it my 83 T/A Automatic shifter **** was very different than what he has there, Mine was a T-handle, like the later ones, but it was a small tube instead of the larger handle...

That is a '73-74 Firebird and all other Pontiacs with a console shift. Those the are the only years the Firebird used a Pontiac arrowhead rather than a Firebird symbol on the push button. That peice is actually a helluva lot rarer than any '82 auto shift ****.

Ozfoz, the '83 T-hand was one year only. Its smaller and angled 90 degrees to the driver. Its made to fit on the '82-83(and 82-86 Camaro) shifter. The 84-up shifter the **** alignment slots are longer and the clip groove is lower. The '83 T-hand is still available, retails for about $20.

Yah, whats up with the signed Biff chin makeup thing from back to the future?? Thought that was kind of weird.

I ALWAYS look at past buys from people bidding on stuff...you can kind of tell alot about someone it's kind of funny sometimes too, especially with the people trying to do Knight Rider conversions.

My 76 has the same shifter emblem, it is a early 76 model built in Nov 75.
