Hehe...I have 3 or 4 road tests of these cars from '83-'85.

Let me think...an '83 Z28 5 speed L69 would do it in 6.7 or 6.9 according to C&D, or 7.3 according to Motor Trend. Then I have a test of a 15th anniversary T/A L69, as well as an '85 T/A L69 from Hot Rod.

Check out the performance numbers on my site...www.geocities.com/jee89

According to "Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am 1969-1999 Photo album"

0-60 for an 84 15th anniv. L69 car was "close to 8 seconds"

I have an 84 LG4 0-60 is nowhere near 8, try 15

I have 2 or 3 tests of LG4s. What I do know is the following:

'82 Z28 4 speed LG4: 0-60 = 8.5 sec (Motor Trend)
'84 Berlinetta auto LG4: 0-60 = 9.3 sec

The 0-60 for the H.O. engine, that has 190 HP and 240 Torque, and an automatic is 7.8. The same engine with a 5 speed is 7.6.

I've got a stock 84 T/A speedo you can have for cheap if you want it.

L69's are great engines, I'm still considering rebuilding the one that was in the hardtop but by the time I'd be done with it the only thing that would be an L69 would be the block .

L69 0-60 times varied greatly throughout all the tests I have. The fastest was the '83 Car and Driver L69 5 speed tes at 6.9 sec, and the slowest was a Road and Track test of an '85 IROC L69 5 speed at 8.1 sec.
