Well thats pretty much a matter of preferance. Ill list the ones that I would call "collectible".
87-92 GTA's
85-90 Iroc-z's
Clean T/A's and Z28's are desirable.
Formulas probably have a good following too.
Pace cars and the Anniversary models will be collectible.
Convertible's are always nice.
Cars with 350's will be desirable.
And of course Firehawks and 1LE equipped cars.
Overall the cars are not rare but their are many desirable models out there. The top of the line models will be most collectible.
Ok thats my try Im sure others could add more or clean up that list.
------------------
83 T/A 84 T/A 94 25th anniv. T/A and some Fords.

oh man.....I'd have to say definetaly the Firehawks and Turbo T/A's. Rare, exotic, and still one of the fastest Fbodies ever.
GTA's and IRoc's maybe collectable, but have no where near the collectability of the Firehawks and TTA's.
------------------
1989 Iroc-Z. 305TPI 5spd, G92 (230hp/300ft/lbs). 91-92Z28 groundeffects. Corvette Admiral Blue Metallic paint. Thermomaster chip, 160*stat & fan switch, Bosch +4 plugs, MAF screens removed, custom ram air, Flowmaster cat back, K&N, adj. fuel pres. reg.
72,000 miles. SWEET!!

In my opinion on Camaro's, it would be the 1LE cars, then the B4C police pkg. Camaro's(especially if they did not make it in to service), 91-92 Z28's w/ B2L or the LB9 w/ 5spd and then the 90' IROCs due to shorter assy year.
For Pontiac it would be the TTA, 1992 GTA's(226 made), 1992 LB9 5spd(94 made) and of course the 91-92 Firehawk.
Remember this only my opinion and you can tell I am especially partial to the 91-92 3rd Gens(lower production #'s) and especially to the 1LE's and the B4C's.

An unraced one is rare.Same for the B4C's,just watch Cops and see what police cars go through.....
Don't forget the '88 GTA Notchbacks.....

what about the 1988 1LE... there were only 4 produced that year.. which would be very rare.. considering there were only 1360 third gen 1LE's total over a 5 year period

Two cars come to mind, other than the non-regular production 1LE's and B4C's. Those would be the 15th anniversary Trans Am and 20th anniversary Camaro.
The 1984 15th anniversary Trans Am's were all white with blue graphics, sported a "TRANS AM" door decal (similar to the IROC-Z) and was the first F-Body with 16-inch tires. Maybe someone could fill me in on how many were produced.
The 1987 "20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition" Camaro was the unknown anniversary F-Body. This is because GM made no official announcement of this car. There's a story about this but I won't delve into the details here. Only convertible '87 Camaros received this designation (263 Sport Coupes and 744 Z28's).

A neighbor up the street has an 89(?) 1LE with 4000 miles and it was never raced. Its a Red Iroc, and it is real.

I have heard of an unofficial estimate that about 10 of the 111 '89 1LE IROC's made were never raced and got into the hands of collectors. I know of two here in the Atlanta area that have less than 10K miles on them.

I'd say TTA, its so freakin quick. I'd kill for one, it can give any stock thirdgen an a$$ whippin and can give ANY fourth gen quite a run for the money.Plus one bit of proof that it's so rare is that it was only offered in one color.

I read in High Performanc Pontic an article of a 1 of 1 '92 Firehawk Ragtop built by SLP for some guy that just kept throwing money at them or knew somebody or kept begging till they did it. That car has got to be the one. I'll look through my stack and if i can find it i'll post it.

I'd have to say that the 87 IROC, Burgandy, 350, TTops, BOSE system (sux) and leather has to be the rarest. Oh and it also has to have only 7500 miles on it.
Oh sorry! I just described MY CAR! I guess it's rare to me since it's the only one I got!!

the only collectible thirdgens will be anniversery cars , and fire hawks, GTA and Irocs , i dont see them being that collectible , they just made way to many of them, same goes for formula's and z28

I was under the impression that the 87 IROC convertible was fairly rare. As in less than 1000 manufactured. Thus my reasoning for wanting one. That, and they do look good.
Am I way off here? Are they not the rare car I assumed they were?

My choice would be the TTA, but not just mine. It would be the actual pace car. I saw it for sale a few years ago in National Dragster for $30K which came with the origional motor in crate and the 600 HP installed that went 208 MPH.
Now that is the one I want.

other collectors would be the other colors that were never seen by the public.. Did you know that in 1992 there are 183 camaro's painted specially.. My guess is movies or something.. good luck finding them..

Firebird ~
TTA, Firehawk, Tojan (if you don't know, ask)
Camaro ~
1LE, B4C, 82 Z28 Pace Car, 1987 IROC Convertible
I personally feel that IROCs themselves are too common...they're the same as Z28's, just different wheels... the Z28s could have the hood, the taillights, etc ... people just thought the IROC to be more appealing
