I have a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am with the 305h.o. backed with a 5 speed transmission. My sticker on the door is worn where it says the weight so i was wondering if anyone who has a car like it knows the weight?
thanks
thanks
The guy behind the counter at your closest local truckstop knows... Just go in and tell him you want to weigh your car, go drive on the scale, go back in and pay your $4 and you'll have the actual weight. The tag on the door shows the curb weight. Check your title or registration if you want a similar useless number.

I found the build sheet under one of the rear seats in my '84 Trans Am. According to it, my fairly well equipped LG4/auto T/A has a shipping weight of 3,424 pounds. Your's should be similar.

Drew is correct, go to a truckstop and have it weighed there, Or wait in line at one of the DMV Weigh stations. I have also seen scales at junkyards, where they weigh a vehicle dumping steel (like a pickup truck) and then when they leave they weigh the truck again to see the difference.
I know in Michigan 1983 was the last year they used the weight of the car on a title for the license fee. Although I do not think it was the actual weight of the car, rather it was the curb weight. On 1984 & newer vehicles they went to the original price of the car, for example a $10,000 car would get a 10 and your fee was calculated from there. They get more money this new way
Oh, my 83 T/A on my Title states - 3,124#, and my 83 Camaro SC title states 2,500#, which I know is grossly wrong.

I always tell people if they want their car to go faster, let me drive it, lol. If 100lbs = .10 of a second, than Ill be 1/10th quicker, lol.
