rare 92 heritage edition?

I own a 92 RS Heritage Edition that is white with black stripes.I travel hundreds of miles daily and have only seen one factory striped RS that also has black stripes.I try to learn as much as possible about the third gen camaro as possible and I keep reading that they didnt offer this stripe combo.I doubt its that special considering its lack of goodies that should come on a "special" car, does anybody out there know something I dont or where I can find how many were made white with black stripes?

The black stripes aren't correct for your car, they were only paired with the red paint... you could have white with red, red with black, black with red, green with gold, and purple with gold... any other combo isn't right.

I dont really care as far as monitary value, my car is priceless to me and Im just searching for info to help me know every piece of info about it and other third gens out there.I dont want you to think I am holding my car in some "RARE" point of view.Im am just tired of reading that my car isnt factory in its condition when I belive it is, without proof that can be verified someway.

Sorry about the silver vs gold mixup... I still haven't seen a purple heritage car... I'm not sure where you can verify it, I'd imagine it'd be somewhere on the RPO sheet or build sheet... Besides that its just a commonly known fact that only a few combinations were available. If your car was originally white the stripes should be red, if the stripes were originally black the car should be red... A third possibility is that your car isn't a heritage car but rather a normal 92 RS that had the stripes applied aftermarket... Dealerships have been known to do that kinda thing.

If it has the heritage package, it will have the RPO code ZO3. Check your RPO list to see if it has that code.

What color is the interior? If the interior on the white car is red, the stripes should also be red. It could also be a special order. If it were me and I wanted a white heritage car, the stripes would not have been red on mine either since I don't like red interior! I thought you could get the black stripes with a grey or black interior. I'm only guessing on that though.

I don't know if this helps but I have a poster from the Chevy dealer at this years car show. It has the new SS on front of course, but on the back it has a line up with a 92 white z28 coupe that has black stripes. It doesnt list it as the heritage package though.

What ever became of this? I think we all know that only a few Z's were ever done in the black striping, but those cars never made it to the showroom. Just kind of curious...

The white Z with black heritage stiping was a promotional car... GM shows it at carshows as part of the "camaro heritage tour". Its one of the 6 test cars they built with a higher output 350 and a ZF 6spd and a host of other goodies... for all released to public concerns black stripes NEVER came on a white car stock.

I've seen other post saying that the Polo Green w/gold had production numbers of 900. Is that true?

There is a very nice one here in my town that is Pole Green w/gold stripes. But it also has the Gold 15 inch wheels. It is absolutely gorgeous, but it is correct? BTW, were there any Hawaiian Orchid cars made with silver GFX? That is what I have and I bought off of the second owner who bought it 6 months after the original owner bought it. He said that he saw it in the showroom with that color combo before the original owner bought it. The car has never been repainted either. Just wondering.

Mike, 900? I wonder where that number came from. Usually Chevrolet doesn't go that far into the breakdown. Chpdlc, I bet those 15 in. wheels are correct on that polo green heritage car. They "resurrected" the gold wheels used on the '82-'87 Z28. A nice touch for the polo green annivsary cars.

whoever said that the dealers did the stripe kits also, was for sure right....hell even a few USED car dealerships did it,
about 2 or 3 years ago, this used car dealership in my hometown had about 7 different 3rd Gen Camaros at one time,
5 were 92's, 1 a 91, and 1 90...
they put the 25th heritage stripes on every one and screwed up the color combo on most of em, even had the nerve to put the 25th anniversary stickers on the 90 and 91

alright here we go again , let's get this all straight

91 camaros never came straight from a factory with stripes ever....if a dealer did it o'well.

92 camaros came with the usuall (puple&silver), (green&gold&16"wheels w/gold accents), (red&black), (black&red), and the standard (white&red)

92 rs had the "polo green" with gold reserved for them. u could opt for a special gold wire package. (looked more honeycomb then anything).

The only thing i'm not sure of would be the black w/red stripes wich i believe is for the z's only!

the illusive white with black stripes was the 92 prototype that can be seen on the camaro "Legends" tour (check out superfest.com for pix), this car came with black honeycomb bbs type racing wheels and a few performance options.

there are no other combinations, that were factory, and unless u own the only prototype ever made your car is a repaint job, but it is a Camaro and u sould enjoy and make it your own.

hope i didn't make anyone mad i just hate to hear people give advice when they aren't sure. it adds to rumors and gives people wrong impressions.
