Rpo codes for a 89

Aloha
alright. ive got a 89 firebird formula (or so i think) but i cant find the rpo codes anyplace on the car. so i went to the local pontiac dealership and asked them to get the rpo codes with the vin. they looked at me like i was insane and told me that it couldnt be done. anyone know if its possible? and if it doesnt cost anything could i give one of you my vin and have you do it? thanks for any help

p.s. if you dont want to get me the rpos thats fine i will wait till i can go to the next dealership and try again, i would just like to know if its possible to get for my car.

Snuffit, I know it's possible back to '90 with the software they have at work, they could have tried it for you. It sounds like (the look) they don't know they can do it.

Yes, you can get the codes for a 89. I have a 89 camaro and I got the spid label from the local dealer that shows all the rpo's. Good luck,

Try Pontiac Historical Services if you can't find them.

well this is peachy. i called the second closest dealer (over 60 miles away) and they were clueless also. great help these people all. so i took one last shot in the dark and called one in omaha (that would be over 90 miles away from me) and they knew what i wanted. but couldnt fax it down to me. so i asked them to call the dealer near me and explain what to do. they said they did. but when i called the local dealer the dealer claimed their computers couldnt do it. when all else fails bang head on computer desk till you pass out i guess.

I'm not an expert but it does have throttle body on it and I've never heard of a non-Formula w/tb.
What Formula related items do you have on it?
Anything can be changed tho. How about some rpo's?

Damn GM. I went today and we tried to get spid labels for a couple 89's and they have changed it. It now starts at 90' and it's called a vis label. Sorry,
